Koirala-led govt to end crisis: Deuba
GORKHA : Nepali Congress senior leader Sher Bahadur Deuba on Friday said a national consensus government led by NC President Sushil Koirala should be formed to end the current political impasse. He said they could not give way out of political crisis due to constitutional vacuum in the country.
He was speaking at a programme organised on the occasion of the first Aarughat Mahotsav in Gorkha. In another context, Deuba said the country will prosper economically if there is political stability in the country. He said Aarughat should be made a transit point to increase trade with Tibet.
Speaking at the same programme, UCPN (Maoist) leader Krishna Bahadur Mahara said the chance of holding Constituent Assembly elections within the deadline is becoming thin due to conspiracy being hatched by some behind-the-scene elements to disrupt the peace process. He was of the view of reviving the dissolved CA if an agreement is not reached within the deadline given by the President.
