Poudel blames coalition partners for no consensus

PARASI : Nepali Congress (NC) Vice President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that consensus has been elusive with the UCPN (Maoist) and Madhesi Front in the majority.

Inaugurating the second district convention of Nepal Magar Association, Nawalparasi at Kawaswoti on Saturday, leader Poudel said the Maoist's greed for power and tendency to blame other parties have been the stumbling block to consensus .

The country has witnessed instability for the NC not having a majority, he claimed, adding, "Had the NC received majority in the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections, the country would have received a new constitution and thereby democracy would have been consolidated."

He also accused the UCPN (Maoist) and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha of constraining the NC's bid to build a federal republican Nepal by including all languages and cultures.

The convention of the NC-aligned Nepal National Magar Association, Nawalparasi is choosing new leadership on Sunday. RSS
