2 killed, 3 missing as boat capsizes in Begnas
POKHARA, APR 03 : Two minors died and three others went missing when a boat capsize d due to strong winds in Begnas Lake, Kaski on Wednesday.
Two-year-old Kibina Gurung and Anupama Gurung, 3, both from Rambazaar-10 of Pokhara, were rescued in unconscious state and rushed to Western Regional Hospital but were declared dead.
However, the locals managed to rescue three persons alive.The ill-fated boat turned turtle in the lake following a sudden wind when eight persons of a picnic group had gone for a boat trip.
According to Bimal Upadhyay, a member of Begnas Boat Workers Association, Prakash Gurung, 2, Sushma Gurung, 24, Pushpa Gurung, 25, went missing in the accident. A group of 12 persons had gone for a picnic celebration at Begnas area.
Locals and police have been searching for the missing persons.
